Today is a great day. I write all this while our department is about to pack up and the bags are about to be packed. As always, we go last minute. We still haven't even bought the bus tickets, there's food in the fridge and a washing machine to put on. So yeah, today is a big and busy day.
Today we are leaving Tucumán, a city that for technical and personal reasons we stayed for a month of our trip. We leave what has been our home for a month and return to the route and change accommodations every four days. It's a bittersweet feeling since the last few days I had felt a bit stuck not having so many activities to do. At the same time, we have been saying goodbye to friends that we will not see for a long time four days.
The other day I had the feeling that we had been doing nothing for a few days, which is also fine from time to time, but I think of all that we still have to cover in this country and I already want to grab my backpack and start walking.
But now I reflect on everything we've done this month and the truth is that we haven't stopped that much either. It gave us time to start this blog! Since we arrived we have had many gatherings, we have had many mates, we have made many recipes (I am grateful for not having gone out to eat so much because I love eating at home), we organized a bachelor party, we went to a wedding, we spent Christmas and New Year, they operated on Gaby, she recovered from the operation, we visited the entire city center (several times), we celebrated my birthday, millions of video calls with my family...
And although I have tried to take advantage of as much time as possible, I feel that we still have a little more to go here and at the same time I really want to go. I am going to miss the visits, the gatherings at the pool or meeting people we know on the street, buying at the grocery store on the corner, saying hello to the doorman, always going into the same apartment, or knowing that our friends can stop by whenever they want. they want
I have learned a lot in Tucumán, about myself and about life in general. Relating to people who are not from my culture has been very enriching. I have learned a little, very little because for me it is complex, the economy here. And I would like to able to be sure that we can return whenever we want.
After a month of looking at shops, restaurants, breweries, and kiosks, I have a list of what seemed to me to be the best places in the city, value for money. If you are interested in all that information, we could do another article.
To all this, we had to organize our route through the south and our next trip... but we always go at the last minute. So now, we're a bit busy deciding what our path is going to be. What is clear to us is that now we are going to Mendoza for a few days to be able to enjoy its wonderful landscapes and begin to visualize the mountains as a background to the landscape. Do you recommend us a place in Mendoza? What should be our next destination in southern Argentina?
